Miami Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall had surgery on his hip in the offseason, according to ESPN.
The team's prized offseason addition sat out Wednesday's practice, and head coach Tony Sparano said that Marshall will be sidelined until at least the start of training camp.
"We don't play a game today," Sparano said. "We play a game down the road somewhere. … No disappointment at all. He's been here for eight weeks now, throwing and catching and doing all the things necessary. I mean, he was throwing and catching the day that the procedure was done. So, not real concerned about it."
Neither the team nor Marshall addressed any rumor off offseason surgery.
"It's definitely frustrating, but you know, some things you can't control," said Marshall. "In my past, I learned that, not to worry myself and hold my head down when I can't control it. I'm just going to do the best I can with the mental reps and prepare myself that way."
Marshall, who was acquired from the Broncos for a pair of second-round draft picks earlier this year, had 101 catches for 1,120 yards last season for Denver, including an NFL-record 21 catches for 200 yards against Indianapolis in December.
