Jacoby Ellsbury's time off the disabled list didn't last long.

After returning to action May 22, Ellsbury was put back on the DL on Friday.

According to ESPN.com, the Red Sox still don't know what's ailing the outfielder. They ruled out internal bleeding, and manager Terry Francona said Ellsbury visited with a thoracic specialist.

Ellsbury, who fractured four ribs after a collision with third baseman Adrian Beltre on April 11, has played in just nine games this season.
