Vin Scully: 'Ernie Harwell Was First and Only Baseball Broadcaster Involved in a Trade'Frank Capra‘s It’s A Wonderful Life ends with a famous line: “No man is a failure who has friends.”

By that measure, Ernie Harwell was one of the most successful men in the history of the world.

The former voice of the Tigers passed away Tuesday. Vin Scully, who belongs on the Mt. Rushmore of baseball broadcasters with Harwell, took a few minutes out of the Dodgers-Brewers game to salute his old friend.
