After finishing third at New Hampshire last weekend, Carl Edwards will look to break through at Daytona in the Coke Zero 400 on Sunday.

"Our goal is to survive and have a good points night," Edwards said. "Daytona is always big, but racing under the lights on the Fourth of July weekend is just awesome. There would be nothing bigger than putting the No. 60 Copart Ford Mustang in Victory Lane."

The Roush Fenway team will be testing out the New Ford Mustang for the first time, but crew chief Drew Blickensderfer is confident that Edwards will be able to settle into his new ride.

"We will have to work hard during practice to get the car to handle well in the draft since it is a new car for us," Blickensderfer said. "Carl is really good at adapting to new cars and conditions so it should be a good weekend."

Despite a second-place finish at Daytona in February and last week’s finish at New Hampshire, Edwards is not letting the close goals get to him. Instead, he’s focused on consistency.

"As always, we need to stay out of the 'big one' and find drafting partners in order to finish well," he said.
