Carl Edwards will be leading the Roush Fenway team to its home track Sunday when the Nascar Sprint Cup Series arrives in New Hampshire for the Lenox Industrial Tools 301. In his 11 starts in New Hampshire, Edwards has four top-10 finishes.

Edwards' best finish in New Hampshire came in 2008, when he finished second.

“We’ve run really well at New Hampshire, we just haven’t been able to run well there lately,” Edwards said. “This is an important race for us for a number of reasons, but mostly because this [will be] the first race of the Chase the next time we come back, so it would be great to run well and take those notes back for the second race up there.”

His crew chief, Bob Osborne, also shares Edwards’ optimism.

“Although the statistics don’t show it, we have actually had very good cars and Carl has raced very well at Loudon,” he said. “We have not had the best of luck and that shows in our record.  It’s flat, it’s fast and is really a driver’s track, but the driver can’t do but so much — we’ll have to give Carl a good car that handles well. If we do our part, he’ll have no problem getting a good finish for us.”

The Lenox Industrial Tools 301 starts Sunday, June 27, at 1 p.m.
