It's said that soccer is a global game, and when the Celtic Football Club and Sporting Clube de Portugal square off for the Football at Fenway event on July 21, fans from all over the world will have the opportunity to tune in and watch it live.

NESN will deliver the live feed to its viewers throughout New England, while Fox News and Fox News Espanol will broadcast the game across the country. On an international level, Fox Sports in Latin America and Fox Sports World Canada will feature the match from Fenway.

"We are grateful to our partners at NESN for once again stepping up to produce and broadcast yet another high-profile event from Fenway Park and to the Fox family of networks for giving this anticipated match international, multilingual exposure," said Sam Kennedy, president  of Fenway Sports Group  and EVP/COO  of the Boston Red Sox. "NESN’s world class production capabilities will allow fans around the world to enjoy this special event in high definition.

"Earlier this year," Kennedy continued, "NESN’s versatility allowed us to distribute ‘Frozen Fenway,’ the first ever outdoor college hockey double-header at Fenway Park, around the country. Now, thanks to them, millions of soccer fans around the globe will be able to watch the Beautiful Game from America’s Most Beloved Ballpark."

Soccer fans in New England will be able to catch the live NESN feed on July 21 following the broadcast of the game between the Red Sox and Oakland A's, which is scheduled for a 3:37 p.m. ET start in Oakland that afternoon. Fans can tune in for a half-hour pregame show hosted by NESN’s Tom Caron live from Yawkey Way at 7:30 p.m., followed by the kickoff at 8 p.m. At the half, TC will be joined by former World Cup commentator and NESN analyst Jack Edwards for further analysis.

"The fan frenzy over the World Cup proves that this is the ideal time to bring soccer to Fenway Park," said Joel Feld, NESN's executive producer. "NESN has the best sports fans in the country and this will be a special event for us."

The event marks the 19th soccer game played at Fenway, and the first since July 9, 1968, when Pele and the Santos Football Club from Brazil took on the Boston Beacons.
