The injuries just keep on coming for the Red Sox.

Hours after second baseman Dustin Pedroia was put on the 15-day disabled list, right-hander Clay Buchholz pulled up lame running the bases in the top of the second inning of the team's game in San Francisco and was immediately removed.

Buchholz appeared to hurt something on his left leg as he ran into second base. He had singled moments earlier in his first major league at bat.

The 25-year-old had an early 4-0 lead and was aiming to become the second 11-game winner in the American League.

Scott Atchison relieved Buchholz to start the bottom of the second.
