Report: Cam Neely Will Be Named Boston Bruins President

The Bruins are making a big move.

According to multiple media reports, the Boston Bruins will name former Bruin and current team vice president Cam Neely president of the club. The official announcement is expected to be made Wednesday during a 2 p.m. ET news conference at the TD Garden.

NESN will air the news conference live.

Comcast Sports Network New England’s Joe Haggerty reports via Twitter that Neely will “likely be an equal with [current Bruins GM Peter] Chiarelli.”

Neely played 13 seasons in the NHL — three with the Vancouver Canucks and 10 with the Bruins. He scored 395 goals and 299 assists in 726 career games and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2005.

He has been the Bruins’ vice president since 2007.
