Texas Rangers GM Jon Daniels Loses Bet, Joins List of Sports Figures To Change Hair Styles Texas Rangers general manager Jon Daniels has never been happier about losing a bet.

Daniels, who at 33-years-old is the youngest GM in the Major Leagues, made a bet with shortstop Elvis Andrus while in Milwaukee on June 12, agreeing that he would dye his hair if the Rangers won 10 straight games.

And with a 13-3 rout of the Pirates on Wednesday, the Rangers have now won 10 in a row, forcing Daniels to get what is sure to be a hilarious new hairdo.

"I was hoping he'd forget, but no such luck," Daniels told ESPNDallas.com. "It's not going to be a good look."

Daniels will join a motley crew of sports figures who have dramatically altered their hair styles.

Last August, Rays manager Joe Maddon, who usually dons the silver locks, dyed his hair black before a pregame news conference, trying to get his team to loosen up. Red Sox fans may also recall Maddon rocking the Ray-Hawk in during the 2008 ALCS.

In 2008, White Sox players Nick Swisher, John Danks and Toby Hall dyed their facial hair pink, in honor of breast cancer awareness on Mother’s Day.

Then there is the classic playoff beard, which has been made famous by hockey players but has also carried over into other sports. Patriots’ fans might remember when several members of the Pats’ offensive line, led by the ultra-shaggy Matt Light and Logan Mankins, grew beards and mullets throughout the entire 2007-2008 season.
