Who Will Win the American League West?

The Oakland A’s came to Fenway Park on Tuesday as one of the biggest surprises in baseball so far this season.

But how long can they keep it up? Their neighbors in the West are hoping they turn things down fast.

Led by solid pitching and sufficient hitting, the A’s are tied with the Rangers for the top spot in the West and are ahead of the Angels by 2 1/2 games. The Mariners, who many picked to win the division this season, are already seven games out, but with a strong lineup and healthy ace in Cliff Lee, they are expected to do some damage in the coming months.

Of the four teams, none appear to have the goods to pull away from the pack with a commanding division lead — meaning this race will be a good one to keep a close eye on.
