SB Nation is moving up the Internet ladder.

According to Techcrunch.com, the upstart blogging network has added another site to the fold, acquiring The Sporting Blog from Sporting News. The Sporting Blog and all its archived stories will migrate to SB Nation as part of the deal. Terms of the deal were not released.

The popular blog, founded in 2007, brings a more comedic take on the sports news of the day and was part of Sporting News’ move into digital media. As the blog grew, SB Nation thought it would make a good addition to its growing stable.

SB Nation’s acquisition also coincides with the start of a new Tumblr blog. The moves are the latest in a line of steady growth for the network that started in 2008.

The site has a deal in place with the NHL to feature stories from local SB Nation blogs on its main page, and its more than 200 local sites have quickly gathered visitors in the seven million range.

With the addition of The Sporting Blog, SB Nation hopes to bring more humor to its main page.
