You never know what you can find at a yard sale. After all, one person’s trash is another person’s treasure.

Well, according to Ohio-native Vaneisha Robinson, a $5 LeBron James pendant purchased at a yard sale turned out to be a $10,000 piece of memorabilia, which has led to an eruption of controversy and an ongoing police investigation.

According to ESPN.com, the 19-year-old Robinson claims that she purchased the pendant at a yard sale for $5 four years ago, and recently got it appraised, at which point she learned of its true value. Robinson then listed the item for sale on eBay, and appeared on television in Cleveland to discuss her unique discovery.

However, Maverick O. Carter, the CEO for LeBron James’ marketing company, claims that the diamond-studded pendant was stolen from him three years ago.

Robinson reportedly went to Carter’s house after receiving a phone call that informed her that LeBron James would be there to make her an offer for the pendant she couldn’t refuse.

James was not at the house when Robinson arrived, though, and she was reportedly forced to give up the pendant.

According to ESPN.com, Police Sgt. James Elchlinger determined that the item was one-of-a-kind and belonged to Carter.

Robinson has since been named as a suspect in the case. However, she told WEWS-TV that the pendant belongs to her and she wants it back.
