Red Sox fans are collectively sending healing thoughts to Dustin Pedroia, hoping the second baseman’s CT scan scheduled for Friday will have positive results. If the bone in his foot is not broken, Pedroia could be back on his feet preparing for a return within days.
After Thursday night’s 7-2 loss to the Texas Rangers, a return from Pedroia could definitely help sooner rather than later. Thursday’s kgb Question of the Day asked fans which player they thought would have the most immediate influence on the team’s success when they return. Over 50 percent of the fans selected Pedroia as their go-to guy to help the Sox when he recovers.
Starting catcher, Victor Martinez, who went down in the same week as Pedroia in late June, received 27 percent of the votes, while outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury collected 16 percent. Ellsbury has played just nine games for the Red Sox this season.
