The New York Rangers signed left winger Derek Boogard to a four-year deal on Thursday, the first day of free agency in the NHL.

Boogard, 28, is known for his size — standing at 6-foot-8, 257 pounds — but not his scoring, as he has just two goals and 12 assists in 255 NHL games. He'll likely be smashing a head or two at Madison Square Garden, as he has amassed a whopping 544 penalty minutes in his career — an average of more than two minutes per game.
