Maybe the Red Sox aren’t content to sit back, after all.

According to ESPN’s Jayson Stark via Twitter, Boston may be shopping reliever Manny Delcarmen for a reliever in return.

ESPN.com’s Gordon Edes, however, also tweeted that a Red Sox source said the club “has nothing major, maybe nothing minor” happening before the 4 p.m. deadline.

Delcarmen has labored in the Red Sox bullpen this season, struggling with his control and walking 23 batters in 37 innings. The 28-year-old right-hander has given up 20 earned runs, producing a 4.86 ERA.

He also spent time on the 15-day disabled list with a forearm strain.
