Vince Wilfork's 'Help Vince' Campaign Kicks Off, Asking Patriots Fans to Find 'Missing' Super Bowl Ring Maybe this whole thing was written into Vince Wilfork‘s new contract, maybe there’s really not much going on in Foxboro in July or maybe we’ve all just entered the twilight zone. Whatever it is, the Patriots and Wilfork released the following video on Thursday to explain the meaning of those “Help Vince” T-shirts that the nose tackle sent to the media.

Yes, you really just watched that.

In the event that you didn’t watch that, it’s basically the introduction of a scavenger hunt for Wilfork’s missing Super Bowl ring, which was stolen and now belongs to a Jets fan who filmed a ransom video from his mother’s garage and will now leave clues so that he can prove he is smarter than Patriots fans. Pretty standard, I suppose.

As the information page on Patriots.com explains, the “Help Vince” campaign will include challenges and prizes for Patriots fans who use the SCVNGR app for the iPhone and Android.

“The location-based iPhone and Android app [is] about going places, doing fun challenges and earning points all while unlocking badges and sharing your activity with your friends,” the team said in a release. “Patriots fans can play special Patriots challenges at hundreds of spots across New England … from Burlington, Vt., to Gillette Stadium, to Mystic, Conn., and everywhere in between, the game is on to find the ring.”

To participate, you just need to download the application … and have loads of free time.
