Yogi Berra Will Miss Old-Timers Day After Falling at Home NEW YORK — Yogi Berra is
missing Old-Timers Day at Yankee Stadium after taking a fall at home.

Yankees spokesman Jason Zillo
said that the 85-year-old Hall of Famer has some bruises after the
accident Friday in Montclair, N.J., but was OK.

Berra's family said in a
statement released Saturday by the Yankees that the former catcher is
recovering at home and is "extremely disappointed he is unable to
participate" in the ceremonies and "see so many of his friends."

The statement added that Berra
hoped to be up and about soon.

A day earlier, the Yankees paid
tribute to owner George Steinbrenner and public address announcer Bob
Sheppard
, who both died this week.
