Carl Crawford Scratched From Lineup Due to Stomach Virus

Tampa Bay outfielder Carl Crawford has been scratched from Friday night's lineup against the Boston Red Sox as he has come down with a stomach virus.

Crawford was scheduled to bat in the three-spot before the late scratch.  He is one of Tampa's top sluggers, as he leads the team with a .297 batting average.

Crawford posts a .250 career batting average against Red Sox lefty Jon Lester (8-for-32) with one RBI and eight strikeouts.

Matt Joyce has been moved into left field to take over for Crawford's absence, and will bat in the nine-spot. Below is the updated Rays lineup.
