That's because if Manny did end up on the South Side, it would pair him with another highly controversial figure in manager Ozzie Guillen. The White Sox skipper has never been one afraid to voice his opinion. He often speaks seemingly before thinking and it's usually of high entertainment when he does so.
Imagine if he had to manage a player like Manny Ramirez? Conventional wisdom says that he might not shy away from publicly criticizing the outfielder after jogging down the base line or some other lack of effort like Red Sox manager Terry Francona so often did.
But then again, who knows, maybe Ozzie and Manny could be a match made in heaven. It would be entertaining either way.
It would only add to some of sports' current entertaining tandems. Through the wonders of free agency, we now get to see Bengals receivers Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens share the same football field.
Come basketball season, we'll get to see a Celtics frontcourt with the downright scary Kevin Garnett teaming with the downright hilarious Shaquille O'Neal.
