Jed Lowrie Continues Offensive Tear Against Blue Jays

Jed Lowrie Continues Offensive Tear Against Blue Jays Still decked out in his double-flapped helmet and fresh off his walk-off homer, Jed Lowrie told NESN's Heidi Watney he was just trying to get on base.

His attempt to get on base led the Red Sox to a 5-4 walk-off victory in the 11th inning Saturday night, as he smacked a solo home run into the Blue Jays bullpen to win the game. Lowrie has put together some impressive numbers since his return from the DL, but he says he's just happy to be out on the field.

"It feels pretty good," the infielder laughed. "It's been a crazy couple years, and I'm just happy to be playing."

Lowrie is also impressed with the Red Sox' rebound effort, churning out a victory after a dismal 16-2 loss to the Blue Jays on Friday.

"Daisuke [Matsuzaka] threw well tonight and it's just good to walk out of here with a win," Lowrie said.

Be sure to watch his entire postgame interview on Red Sox Extra Innings.
