John Lackey Does Enough to Pick Up Win No. 11, Beats Angels Again Red Sox starter John Lackey didn’t have his most impressive start Wednesday, but at the end of the night, he could say for the first time this month that he was a winner.

Lackey pitched seven innings giving up five runs on 10 hits, but it was good enough to pick up his 11th victory of the season.

“At this point of the season obviously, every win is real critical for us, especially with the other teams playing well,” Lackey said in reference to how big each win is, especially with the current play of the Yankees and Rays.
