Josh Beckett
is recognizing what he's doing wrong when it comes to his recent performances from the mound. The only problem is that he hasn’t been able to stop the issues from mounting.

Beckett is 0-2 in his last three starts for the Red Sox, posting a 10.69 ERA in those appearances. He's also given up five home runs in that span, including a three-run bomb to Hideki Matsui in the top of the sixth in Thursday night's loss. Beckett told reporters that he would expect a big league hitter like Matsui to capitalize on his throwing error.

"I made a bad pitch to Matsui," Beckett said. "Trying to go down and away and it ends up middle of the plate, and he does what big leaguers do."

The Red Sox' righty has thrown three consecutive outings where he has allowed six runs or more, but he said he felt like he was making good pitches early on.
