Mike Lowell Holding Steady as Favorite for This Week's Top Dawg of the Week The more at-bats he continues to get, the more he seems to produce. That’s been the case for Mike Lowell since he returned to the lineup last week as he continues to build on a stellar stretch this week.

Heading into a weekend series with Texas, the veteran infielder remains the fans’ pick for Jerry Remy‘s Top Dawg of the Week contest.

Lowell was the early leader in the clubhouse after jumping out to a quick start to the week, and it seems like those numbers will only grow especially after a three-hit performance in Thursday’s series finale with the Blue Jays.

Lowell’s three-hit day on Thursday capped off a series with the Blue Jays in which he went 4-for-7 in the two games he played.

Outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury has passed fellow outfielder Ryan Kalish in the voting moving into second mostly on the strength of tying Remy’s team record of four stolen bases in one game.

However, J.D. Drew is making a very strong push into the weekend. The right fielder hit home runs in back-to-back games on Tuesday and Wednesday before homering twice in the series opener Friday night in Texas.
