Alex Rodriguez has been out of the lineup for four of the past five games, and that streak may continue for the next couple of series.

A-Rod, who could play only for one at-bat on Friday, will sit on Saturday against Seattle as he battles a calf strain.

"I don't expect him to play in this series and I don't know if he'll play in Toronto," Joe Girardi said, reports ESPN.

Girardi does not think that the DL is an option for Rodriguez, and Thursday against the White Sox is a likely targeted return date.
