Brett Favre made his much-anticipated return to Minnesota Vikings practice this past Wednesday. Just four days later, he will be their starting quarterback.
According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Favre will play two series or about 10 minutes in Sunday's preseason game.
"That's what he needs right now and all he's ready for right now," said coach Brad Childress.
Tarvaris Jackson will play second, and Sage Rosenfels, who was impressive in the preseason opener, will come in third.
Favre has said that 2010-11 will be his final season.
"I can promise you this – not that I had ever set out as a goal to play 20 years – 20 years, and I'm done," he said. "This is the last year of my contract. I'm sure a lot of people are like, 'Yes!'"
Still, one cannot count out the chance that the gunslinger makes it 21.
Favre was rumored to have retired in early August because of issues with his healing ankle, and question about the conditions of his legs still remain.
This was his third consecutive offseason with an un-retirement.
