Dustin Pedroia is closing in on an on-schedule return.

He has run for three straight days, and is now feeling much better, according to WEEI.

He hopes to return August 17 for the Red Sox upcoming homestand, but is unsure whether or not he will have to do rehab assignments.

"I hit, then I ran around the bases a couple of times. Jogged around the
bases. I felt OK. Every day, it's getting better," said Pedroia. "Three days ago, I thought I was out for the year. Now I
feel like I can play soon. Every day's getting better."
