Report: Jets Linebacker Calvin Pace Out Four to Six Weeks With Broken Foot

After missing the first four weeks of the season in 2009 following a suspension for performance-enhancing drugs, Calvin Pace will give an encore performance in 2010.

This time, though, it will be due to surgery on a broken foot, which Pace will reportedly undergo on Monday.

Pace sustained the injury in the third quarter of the Jets' exhibition game against the Washington Redskins on Friday.

While he was the team's best pass rusher last season, there will not be a major downgrade at the position in his absence. Jason Taylor will take his spot, reports ESPN.

"It's a big loss, there's no doubt," coach Rex Ryan said Friday. "But we're fortunate. We have a lot of depth at that position."
