Report: Mark Sanchez to Serve As Offensive Coordinator Against Eagles

Rex Ryan is adding a new move to his unconventional arsenal of head coaching strategies. Instead of having Mark Sanchez play in the Jets' final preseason game Thursday night against the Philadelphia Eagles, the second year quarterback will serve as offensive coordinator.

Given that the game is relatively meaningless, Ryan figures this is a good opportunity to expose "The Sanchize" to the coach's perspective, reports

Perhaps, with the play-calling experience, Sanchez will eventually be able to blossom into a Peyton Manning-esque field general.

Ryan used the same strategy when he was a defensive coordinator in Baltimore, giving over the reins of the defense to Ray Lewis and Ed Reed in the preseason.
