Report: New York State Tax Makes Carmelo Anthony Lean Toward Houston Rockets

LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade agreed  to earn less money to take their talents to South Beach.

With Florida having no state income tax, this was hardly a sacrifice.

Carmelo Anthony, seemingly on his way out of Denver next summer, may make his decision based on that same principal.

While Amare Stoudamire has hinted more than once that Carmelo will join him in New York — including at Anthony's wedding — sources now report that the Nuggets' star is now considering the Houston Rockets because of Texas' lack of income tax, reports the New York Post.

He recently spoke "enthusiastically" about the Rockets, according to the report.

The Nuggets may opt to trade Anthony, which would mean that his wishes don't particularly matter, but his contract does expire in 2011.

The Rockets have recently shed Trevor Ariza's salary, and general manager Daryl Morey has worked to acquire a plethora of valuable trade pieces.
