The New England Patriots may have lost another crucial starter for the year before the season has even started.

According to the Boston Herald, Nick Kaczur underwent surgery seven to 10 days ago after missing every practice since day two of training camp.

His injury was supposedly rather serious — a bulging disk that was interacting with a nerve to cause severe back pain.

Kaczur was expected to start in place of the holding-out Logan Mankins this season. He, nor the team, have confirmed that he is out for the year.
