Former Red Sox utility man Alex Cora may get another chance to play for a World Series contender.

Fox Sports baseball reporter Ken Rosenthal reported via Twitter that the Texas Rangers, who have a commanding eight-game lead in the AL West, are "considering infielder Alex Cora, who had been released by Mets."

Cora played for the Red Sox from 2005-08, and had one plate appearance in Boston’s 2007 World Series victory over the Colorado Rockies.
