Report: Red Sox Finalize Signing of ‘The Other’ Kendrick Perkins

Boston sports fans may soon be able tune in to Kendrick Perkins games year round.

The Red Sox 2010 sixth-round pick, a power-hitting outfielder from Texas, passed his physical on Friday, meaning that he officially is part of the Sox organization.

Perkins received a scholarship offer to play at Texas A&M, but instead opted to start his professional career. He is the first 2010 Red Sox pick to be given a bonus above MLB slot recommendation this year, WEEI.com reports.

Having two Kendrick Perkins in one city perhaps will surpass the Geovany Soto, Giovanni Soto double — both in the MLB — as the most confusing name issue in sports.
