While Boston was able to claim Johnny Damon off of waivers on Monday, he may not allow any deal to go through.

Sources close to the situation have indicated that the Tigers will not pull him off waivers and that they will try to work out a deal to move the former Sox outfielder, but that isn't the only hurdle.

Damon, according to the Boston Herald, has the Red Sox on the list of 21 teams that he would have to approve a trade to in order for a move to take place. The Tampa Bay Rays and New York Yankees apparently are among the eight teams that he could be traded to without his approval.

Damon won a World Series with the Red Sox in 2004, but his move to New York in 2006 was taken harshly by Red Sox Nation.
