The MVP of the miraculous 2004 ALCS is a five-time All-Star, the Red Sox single-season home run record holder, and had a four-year streak of 85-plus extra-base hits.

Ortiz even holds the season records for home runs by a DH and has been in the top five in MVP voting five times.

In his career-high 54 home run season of 2006, Ortiz set a somewhat surprising record. Big Papi hit 32 of his bombs away from hitter-friendly Fenway Park, tying the record for most road homers in a season ever.
