Test Your Knowledge About Romantic Comedy Sports Films There
have been countless sports movies and an infinite number of chick
flicks. But the number of chick flick sports movies is definitely
quantifiable.

Bill Simmons deemed these films — the ones guys can actually enjoy while their girlfriends cathartically sob — “spork flicks.” Jerry Maguire. Tin Cup. Love and Basketball. All spork flicks.

Of the spork flicks out there, only one remains locked in the hearts of
Red Sox fans everywhere. It manages to weave a boy-meets-girl love
story through the passionate love story between Red Sox Nation and
Boston’s 2004 curse-breaking World Series win. Plus, it was directed by
New England’s own Farrelly brothers.

Of course, in real life, no sane Red Sox fan would choose love over their beloved team.
