August turned out to be a good month for 98.5 The Sports Hub, Boston's latest sports radio station.

Besides marking the one-year anniversary of the station, the month also marked a pair of first-place finishes in ratings among the coveted male 25-54 demographic, The Boston Globe reports.

According to Arbitron's ratings book, The Sports Hub finished first in both morning and afternoon drive shows, which have long been dominated by WEEI (850). Toucher and Rich, The Sports Hub morning program, finished first with men 25-54, recording a 7.8 rating in the 6-10 a.m. morning drive window. WEEI’s Dennis and Callahan Show finished third with a 7.0.

The Sports Hub also did well during the 3-7 p.m. afternoon drive slot – which features three hours of Felger and Massarotti and one hour of The Baseball Reporters, a Red Sox pregame show — finishing tied for first with a 6.7 rating. WEEI's The Big Show was third with a 6.2.

Despite these wins for the newcomers, WEEI still finished tied for second overall in the demo with a 5.9 rating. The Sports Hub, the flagship station for the Bruins and Patriots, was tied for fourth with a 5.3.
