Adrian Beltre Can't Evade Victor Martinez But Runs Away With Top Dawg of the Week Lead Hit a home run, drop to a knee, trot around the bases and receive some votes for Top Dawg of the Week.

That's what Adrian Beltre's been up to this week, belting his 28th homer of the year on Wednesday night in Seattle en route to a Red Sox victory — their fourth in a row.

Beltre's been a big part of those wins, batting .467 and scoring five runs in that span. After Wednesday's home run, the new tradition of Victor Martinez rubbing Beltre's head continued. This one ended a little different though, as Beltre dumped his cup of water all over the catcher. It got a little messy, but if it means Beltre is hitting homers, the Red Sox will happily deal with a puddle in the dugout.

As a result of his efforts, Beltre's running away with the lead in voting for Top Dawg of the Week.

As of Thursday night, he received 53 percent of the votes. Marco Scutaro, who's been playing hurt, is behind at 23 percent, while Jed Lowrie and Bill Hall have also received votes.

Every Monday or Tuesday (depending on when the Red Sox series starts), NESN.com will release which Red Sox players are the Top Dawg contenders. The following Sunday, Jerry Remy will pick a Top Dawg of the Week.

But Jerry also wants to hear from you, Red Sox Nation, and find out who you think is the week’s Top Dawg for the Red Sox. Fans can vote for their Top Dawg of the Week. At the end of the week, we’ll see if Jerry's Top Dawg matches up with Red Sox Nation's Top Dawg.
