Boston College Atop Rankings in Preseason Hockey Poll

The defending national champion Boston College Eagles hockey team will begin the upcoming season where it ended the last one.

With 28 of the 34 first-place votes, the Eagles are ranked number one in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll, followed by University of North Dakota and Miami of Ohio with four and two top votes respectively.

University of Michigan and Yale round out the top five, and Hockey East teams University of New Hampshire, University of Maine, and Boston University are ranked seventh, eighth and 14th.

The Eagles, 29-10-3 in 2009-10, will start the new season against Northeastern on October 10. They have won four national titles all-time, good for seventh best in the country.
