Braylon Edwards Added to List of Stars Jailed for Mixing Tinted Windows With Alcohol Braylon Edwards was pulled over in Manhattan on Tuesday morning because he was “driving erratically.” Also, because the windows of his Range Rover were simply too dark.

During the stop, cops smelled alcohol on the Jets’ receiver, and he blew a 0.16 when Breathalized, the New York Post reports.

Twice the legal limit, Edwards was arrested and is currently being held in police custody. The Jets have said that they will impose the “appropriate disciplinary measures,” and it would be no surprise if Edwards’ history earns him an infamous meeting with Roger Goodell.

Edwards, of course, punched one of LeBron James‘ friends outside of a Cleveland nightclub in 2009, resulting in an aggravated-assault conviction. He also has repeatedly gotten in trouble on the field for antics such as his post-touchdown taunt against the Patriots on Sunday and his sideline feud with Browns quarterback Charlie Frye.

Rapper Busta Rhymes, reality star Stephanie Pratt and the Miami Heat’s Udonis Haslem have all also fallen victim to the “window tint arrest.”

Edwards’ Twitter ghostwriter was unaware of his arrest and tweeted “GoodMorning World…Winning is the goal, perfection is the aspiration, & dedication is the key to unlock the door #LetsWork,” around 8 a.m.

The Jets’ other starting wide receiver, Santonio Holmes, is currently serving a suspension for marijuana possession charges.

The Cincinnati Bengals, who have gone a while without a player arrest at this point, are clearly being challenged for the title of “Jailblazers” of the NFL.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

“Kevin is our leader. I know how good he is and what he can do. I came into this year as the backup. That’s my mindset. That’s the way it is. I’m willing to accept that.”

COMMENT OF THE DAY

The sabermetrics debate rolls on.

“the
win-loss statistic is not the most meaningless stat, in fact, it is by
FAR the most meaningful stat. As much as baseball has become about
stats, its ONLY really about wins and losses. CC does what he has to to
get the win more than anyone else and for that reason he should be the
runaway cy young winner. CC is in fact the top ace because he is
winning games for his team. Especially in a race such as the AL East
where the teams are neck and neck, you can see that CC has the most
importance for his team.”
