The Jets have decided that it will take only a quarter for Braylon Edwards to learn his lesson.

The team has announced that the wide receiver who was arrested earlier this week for DWI, will sit out the first quarter of the team's showdown with the the division-leading Dolphins.

"We've made our disappointment clear to Braylon," said Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum in a statement made before Sunday night's contest. "Now we must deal with the consequences of his actions as the legal process runs its course and the league will determine the appropriate discipline under the guidelines of the collective bargaining agreement."

Tannenbaum made news earlier in the day that Edwards would be disciplined by the team not because he was arrested for DWI, but because he was out so late. The wide receiver was arrested on DWI charges after he was pulled over early Tuesday morning in New York.
