Buck Showalter's Success With Orioles Not Enough for Future Contention Buck Showalter has definitely given the fans at Camden Yards something to cheer about during the month of August. However, he hasn't won over all the fans just yet.

Thursday's kgb Question of the Day asked fans if they think Showalter holds the key to the Orioles becoming a contending team, and 75 percent of those fans said no. He may have led the team to its best month of the season, but he still has work to do if he wants to convince fans of the O's future potential.

Showalter is still clinging on 899 career wins as a manager, and was hoping to earn it — along with a series win — against the Red Sox. The Sox rallied back from a series-opener loss, however, to take the following two games in Baltimore. Up next for the Orioles is a three-game series with the Rays at Camden Yards.
