September 2010 features the beginning of a football season on each of its first three weekends.

College football kicked off this past weekend, and this coming one will be our first NFL Sunday since winter.

On Saturday Sept. 18, the UFL too will commence its 2010 campaign, with the Hartford Colonials taking on the Sacramento Mountain Lions.

The Colonials, having moved from New York this past offseason, are headlined by former Detroit Lion Josh McCown at quarterback and former Cleveland Browns head coach Chris Palmer.

Palmer coached Doug Flutie over a quarter-century ago when Flutie was just beginning his football career. The former Boston College and NFL visited Colonials camp to meet the team.
