Former UMass wide receiver Victor Cruz has earned a spot on the New York Giants' 53-man roster.

The undrafted free agent made quite the impression around the NFL during his first preseason. He led the league with 297 receiving yards, tied for the lead with four receiving touchdowns and tied for second with 15 receptions. Cruz also caught three passes for 46 yards Thursday in the Giants' preseason victory against the Patriots.

Cruz did everything he could do to capture the attention of the coaching staff, but he sat on edge throughout the weekend due to his underdog status.

As one league source said of Cruz, "If he didn’t make the team, there's no hope for anyone."
