With just seven games remaining in his major league career, Mike Lowell is back in the Red Sox' lineup Monday night in Chicago.

Lowell had not started the last two games after being hit in the head with a grounder Friday night in New York. He did come off the bench Sunday night to deliver a go-ahead sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning off Mariano Rivera.

The 36-year-old Lowell is just 3-for-15 (.200) with five strikeouts against White Sox starter Mark Buehrle, but others have enjoyed their encounters with the veteran lefty.

Marco Scutaro is 5-for-15 (.333) against Buehrle, Victor Martinez is 21-for-64 (.328) and David Ortiz is 18-for-52 (.346). Darnell McDonald, batting second and playing right field in place of J.D. Drew, is 5-for-7 (.714).
