The seriousness of Darrelle Revis' hamstring strain had remained a mystery up to Wednesday, with the star cornerback potentially missing anywhere between no time and two weeks.

Now, Rex Ryan has announced that Revis and 2009 Jets sack leader Calvin Pace will not play on Sunday at Miami, and Revis will not even travel with the team, ESPN.com reports.

Revis had struggled with his hamstring last week in practice and left Sunday's game against the New England Patriots after giving up a second-quarter touchdown to Randy Moss.

Pace has been recovering from foot surgery and was supposed to miss the first four to six weeks of the season, but his progress has been better than expected, and it began to appear possible that he could be back much sooner.

Kyle Wilson and Jason Taylor will start in place of Revis and Pace, respectively.
