Report: Jets Under Investigation for Summer ‘Jets West Camp’

An unidentified NFL team has filed a formal complaint with the league against the New York Jets over a July "Jets West Camp" organized by Mark Sanchez.

Eight of the Jets' skill players including Sanchez, Tony Richardson, Santonio Holmes, Jerricho Cotchery and Dustin Keller, got together at Sanchez's high school, Mission Viejo, reports.

The principal issue is that Rex Ryan and offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer happened to be in town for the MLB All-Star Game, and they visited the camp, which could have lead to violations of league rules about offseason organized team activities.

Ryan and Schottenheimer, though, claim to have not offered any instruction.

The complaint contains data gleaned from Twitter as well as from David Clowney's personal accounts.

The NFLPA is not filing a complaint, which they generally do  for offseason issues.

The issue is currently under review, and if acted upon, the Jets could be fined or even lose draft picks.
