Kris Jenkins’ season lasted less than one game.
According to ESPN.com New York, the, Jets’ nose tackle will have season-ending surgery on his ACL.
Jenkins was hurt Monday night in a first-quarter pileup just six plays into the game against the Ravens. He did not return, and an MRI on Tuesday revealed a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
Jenkins, 31, played in only six games last season due to another ACL injury, which was repaired last October using a tendon from his hamstring.
Without Jenkins, the Jets’ depth again will again be tested this season. They already lost backup defensive tackle Ropati Pitoitua to a torn Achilles’ tendon in the preseason.
