O.J. Simpson got to keep his Heisman Trophy — technically speaking. Reggie Bush won't be so lucky.

Yahoo Sports has reported that the Heisman Trust will strip the former USC running back of his 2005 trophy, the first time that such will have occurred in the 75-year history of the award.

The trust has been investigating the NCAA ruling that Bush should have been ineligible for his trophy-winning season, and it will reportedly come to the same conclusion.

In 2006, college sports' governing body retroactively declared Bush ineligible for some of 2004 and all of 2005 — the two best years of his career.

Bush received cash, gifts, and improper benefits while playing at USC.

Some have advocated that Vince Young receive the Heisman Trophy in place of Bush, but the award for 2005 will reportedly remain vacant.

The status of USC's 2004 BCS Championship is still being determined.
