There seems to be consensus as to where to turn when in need of guidance and inspiration — Tony Dungy.

The Super Bowl champion and Football Night in America commentator, known for his off-field endeavors such as his role as a special adviser to Michael Vick, stopped in with both the Jets and Yankees on Saturday to offer up some advice, ESPN.com reports.

Dungy had been critical of Jets head coach Rex Ryan for his Hard Knocks potty mouth, after which Ryan fired back with an invitation for Dungy to come visit with his team.

“We look forward to having him come up and see what we’re all about,” Ryan said at the time.

Still, the former Colts and Buccaneers coach was cryptic about his Saturday encounter with Ryan.

“You’d have to let him talk about that… I cannot say a word about that,” Dungy said as to whether or not he and Ryan spoke personally.

Regarding his visit with the Yankees, slightly more detail made its way out.

“Team, family. Things that you go through as an athlete, basically, this time of year,” Joe Girardi listed as the topics of his address to the team.

“To have him here, with the things he has accomplished in life, is special,” Nick Swisher added. “He is a winner. It was impressive to see how he commanded the room.”
