Ryan Kalish Batting Second, J.D. Drew Sitting in Series Opener in Seattle

The effort continues to get Ryan Kalish higher in the Red Sox' lineup.

Kalish, who hit sixth for just the second time last Wednesday against Tampa Bay, batted leadoff in Boston's series opener in Oakland on Friday and will bat second for the first time in his young career Monday against the Seattle Mariners.

The 22-year-old is hitting .321 (9-for-28) with 10 RBIs in nine games this month.

Kalish is one of several recent minor leaguers in the Red Sox' lineup. Both he and No. 9 hitter Lars Anderson began the year at Double-A Portland while Pawtucket call-ups Josh Reddick and Daniel Nava are also in the lineup.

Nava is making his first start in a week.

Regular right fielder J.D. Drew is out of the lineup despite coming off a three-hit effort Sunday and sporting a 3-for-6 career mark vs. Mariners righty Doug Fister. Drew has been bothered by a sore hamstring and looked to be in pain after sliding into home during Sunday's game.

Here are the complete lineups for both teams:

Ryan Kalish, CF
